Your agency has already paid for years of work: research, briefs, drafts, revisions, performance reviews and client conversations. Data licensing is a way to explore income from the records that work created.
For demand-generation agencies serving B2B SaaS companies, useful records can show how a team translated a growth goal into a campaign, responded to feedback and chose the next change. Gesso helps identify that history, guides the export, removes identifying details and finds buyers for the records you choose.
The revisions explain the finished work
A polished landing page shows the final output. The project history can show how the agency arrived there: the client’s brief, objections from sales, different messages considered, feedback on the draft and the changes made before approval.
For a fictional project, the client asks for more demo requests. The agency discovers that visitors do not understand which teams the product serves. The team rewrites the headline, changes the proof shown on the page and documents the reason. Client feedback leads to another revision before launch.
That sequence is more informative than a folder of unrelated final files. Connect the brief, drafts, comments and approval wherever the records allow it. The same approach applies to paid campaign tests, sales enablement projects and client onboarding.
Separate the decision history from prospect identities
Campaign work can contain contact lists, customer audiences, account credentials and personal information. Those fields require different handling from a discussion about why the team changed an offer or creative concept.
Your agency chooses the projects and systems to include. You can exclude clients, folders and sensitive campaigns. We review ownership and confidentiality terms with you before collecting the work; removing a client’s name does not create permission to license material the agency cannot share.
For remaining records, preparation removes identifying details and reviews attachments, comments and metadata. It should retain the useful relationship between the goal, the decision and the work produced. Client approval of a campaign deliverable and permission to license its history are separate questions to resolve.
You do not have to organize everything first
Bring the names of your tools to the initial call. These may include Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Asana, ClickUp, Notion, HubSpot or a custom project system. Also think about where older project files live and whether revisions and comments are still available.
Gesso works with your administrator or operations lead to identify a suitable export. We guide the steps during a screen-share, check the returned files and handle preparation. You keep control of your accounts and choose the records before they move.
Compare the offer with the work being licensed
A buyer may want one type of campaign history or a wider collection of agency work. The offer should explain the records, permitted uses, exclusions and payment. If it requests continuing updates, those obligations should be clear too.
Repeat licensing can be possible when the terms preserve that right. An exclusive license may reduce the options for another sale, so the headline payment is only one part of the decision.
To explore your agency’s records, estimate a payout and book a call. You can also book the qualification call directly. We start with the tools and history you already have; no raw project files are needed for the call.
