How business data licensing works with Gesso

Gesso helps companies license selected business records to AI buyers. We assess the opportunity, develop a buyer proposal, guide exports and handle preparation and buyer discussions. Your company chooses the records, reviews the buyer and terms, and keeps ownership under the licensing arrangement.

The first call requires no operational data upload. Bring system names, approximate history and the exclusions that matter to your company.

At the first call: assess whether there is a fit

We discuss the work your records capture, where the history lives and whether requests, decisions, revisions and outcomes can be connected. We also identify ownership, confidentiality and access questions that could affect inclusion.

An illustrative calculator estimate helps frame the opportunity. The price of a deal comes from the selected records, available rights and an interested buyer’s offer.

During assessment: describe the available history

Your administrator helps verify counts, retained periods and export options using system information and suitable screenshots. Any screenshots used for assessment should avoid private record contents and credentials. Your company identifies systems, customers, projects and sensitive material to exclude.

The goal is a useful description of the proposed dataset before asking your team for full exports. The total number of messages, jobs or files is different from the number of complete, permitted histories after exclusions.

When a buyer is interested: review the offer

Gesso presents the opportunity and negotiates proposed terms. Review the dataset description, buyer, permitted uses, exclusions, exclusivity and payment terms. Your company decides whether to proceed.

Future licensing depends on the rights retained and compatible buyer terms. A first sale does not guarantee additional sales.

After buyer terms are settled: export the selected records

Gesso guides your administrator through suitable exports and secure transfer. Your team enters its own credentials and keeps control of its accounts. Buyers receive a prepared dataset under a license, with no access to your live business systems.

We agree systems, permissions, exclusions, processing providers, transfer and review in writing before the project data is collected.

Before buyer access: prepare and review the delivery

Preparation removes identifying and excluded details while keeping useful relationships between records. Attachments, images and metadata need review alongside the main text. Independent privacy review and your review precede buyer access.

Your company reviews prepared samples and deliveries. The data-protection page explains the preparation and review process, including the default project retention of 60 days from the first received export, or another period agreed in writing. A buyer’s uses and retention are set separately in its license.

At delivery: follow the written deal

The agreement sets delivery, acceptance and payment terms. There is no fixed payment or guaranteed buyer. Gesso has no upfront fee; review the commercial terms for the proposed transaction before proceeding.
